St. Mark's to hold fundraiser for diapers, wipes, toiletry items

CASPER, Wyo. — St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Casper is holding a fundraiser for its “Heart to Hands Ministry” on Sept. 2 at Sam’s Club.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which donations of diapers, wipes and cash will be accepted at the Sam’s Club location in Casper.

According to a release, the Heart to Hands Ministry was formed more than five years ago to focus on providing diapers, toiletry items, winter clothing, children’s books and laundry vouchers to families and individuals.

Diapers and other toiletry and sanitary items are handed out at St. Marks every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except for the last Tuesday of the month.

The full release on the ministry’s operations follows:

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Casper, WY has had the Heart to Hands Ministry for over five years. It currently focuses on providing diapers, toiletry items, winter clothing, children’s books and laundry vouchers to families and individuals.

1. The Diaper Ministry is held every Tuesday from 11:00 to 12:30, except for last Tuesday of month.

2. We also provide support, friendship and assistance to the families and individuals who seek our services. We currently serve approximately 275 families a week. They come from Casper, Mills, Evansville, Glenrock, Alcova and Douglas. We work with SNAP and WIC, Seton House, the Rescue Mission, Interfaith, and Community Health for referrals.

3. The St. Mark’s Laundry Ministry provides laundry vouchers, which give up to $10 of quarters fed into machines by laundromat staff at the Casper Hilltop Laundromat and Millview Laundromat in Mills. The vouchers are available at the Tuesday Diaper Day and at the Natrona County Library, Salvation Army, Workforce Services, Seton House, Interfaith, and United Way. About 350 vouchers are provided monthly.
